Power Solution
What is a solar charge controller?
A solar charge controller is used to charge the battery from power generated by solar panels and prevent the battery from overcharging. It is also known as a voltage or current controller as it directs the voltage and current from the solar panels to the battery and also stops the reverse flow at night.
What are various types of solar charge controller?
There are two types of solar charge controller:
Can solar panel overcharge battery?
You can control the voltage and current coming from the solar panels that go to the battery. Most '12 volts' panels put out about 16 to 20 volts, causing battery overcharging issues if there is no regulation. It is where you need a solar charge controller.
How can you check whether our solar controller is working or not?
To check if your solar charge controller is working or not, disconnect the positive cable between the solar battery and charge controller. Measure the current by linking the positive test lead from the multimeter to the controller's positive line. The negative test leads from the multimeter are connected to the positive terminal of the solar battery.
